From Research
to Experience.
Immersive Technologies at CYENS
Dr Kleanthis Neokleous
On 4 November 2026, Dis-Course began a new chapter at Alexander College in Larnaca, its Founding Academic Partner. Dr Kleanthis Neokleous of CYENS Centre of Excellence opened the programme with From Research to Experience: Immersive Technologies at CYENS.
The evening brought technological research into conversation with artistic practice, cultural heritage and public experience. Examples of immersive reconstructions, virtual performance and interactive museum projects showed how ideas develop through collaboration across disciplines. The discussion extended to accessibility, public engagement, research funding and the relationship between research and commercialisation.
Simon Pruciak’s opening remarks introduced the purpose of Dis-Course as an independent space for exchange across institutions and disciplines. An adapted version is published in Reflections as Why the Hyphen Matters: On the Idea of Dis-Course.
